During the Wet Season in the Top End, witness the stunning transformation as the Wetlands flood. Despite road closures to Ubirr Rock, the Wet Season Ubirr Tour and Magela Wetlands Cruise offer an exclusive opportunity to explore these iconic locations amidst peak flooding.
Take a cruise through the flooded Magela Creek and floodplain, followed by an exploration of the magnificent Ubirr art site, usually inaccessible during this time. Gain insights into traditional Indigenous knowledge systems and admire the flooded plains from atop the rock before returning to Jabiru. Magela Creek, located in Kakadu National Park, offers a serene and captivating experience. During the wet season, it transforms into a vibrant waterway, providing habitat for diverse flora and fauna. To join the Wet Season Ubirr Tour, utilize the shuttle bus from Jabiru. For your comfort, bring a waterproof bag for your camera, a hat, loose comfortable clothing, and sturdy walking shoes. Note that thongs are inappropriate for this tour. Comfortable shoes with good grip are recommended.
