It is that time of year again when off road areas in Kakadu National Park start to open.  Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) is now open.  Maguk is a 4wd  and is a beautiful spot to visit whilst in Kakadu.

Maguk is a 1 hour drive from Cooinda in the southern part of Kakadu National Park.  Once you turn off the Kakadu Highway it is a 14 kilometre 4wd sandy road.  The walk into Maguk is approximately 1 klm.  Once there you can relax in the little rock holes and enjoy the refreshing water cascading over the rocks.  A little further on from the rock pools is the larger waterhole and waterfall.  For the more active travelers you can climb to the top of the waterfall and enjoy the crystal clear pools.   It is well worth the climb to enjoy the beautiful view from the top.
